Serik received his MBA degree after graduating from the Bradford University School of Management (UK), a Diploma of Higher Education in Jurisprudence (Kazakh State Law University). He also studied Applied Mathematics at the Al-Farabi Kazakh State University.

Serik is a certified auditor of the Republic of Kazakhstan with more than 20 years’ experience. He joined Moore Stephens from another major international accounting firm in 2006. Prior to that, he had experience in working in the banking system (Kazagroprombank, lead economist), in tax authority (Tax Committee of East Kazakhstan Region, head of department), industry (Semey Tannery Holding, CFO).

During his career with Moore, he has been involved in audit and special engagements for various industries including energy, mining, agriculture and food processing.
