Engagements to provide limited assistance to a client in the preparation of financial statements (technical assistance and advice on accounting principles) do not constitute an engagement to compile financial information.
This engagement process involves management requesting and receiving input regarding such matters as accounting principles and financial statement disclosure, the appropriateness of controls and the methods used in determining the stated amounts of assets and liabilities and generally providing assistance and advice in the preparation of financial statements.
