Serik obtained his MBA from the University of Bradford Business School (UK) and holds higher education degrees in law (KazGUU) and economics (SSU). He also studied at the Faculty of Mechanics and Applied Mathematics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Serik is a certified auditor in the Republic of Kazakhstan with over 20 years of experience. Before joining Moore in 2006, he worked at another international auditing firm in Kazakhstan. He also had experience in the banking system (Kazagroprombank) and tax authorities.

During his career with Moore, Serik has been involved in numerous projects across various sectors of the economy, including energy and mining, metallurgy and machine engineering.
